The people who stopped them had a remote siren on their car, two were wearing no uniforms, and one was wearing a military clothe carrying a machine gun, as if they were arresting some dangerous criminals.
Since Ahmadi nejad elected the extremists have the power again and it's been some days that they have started protesting . Here you can see a picture of them.
yesterday, some other people stopped my friends car in Shahrake Gharb, force her out of her car, and measured her Manto(Iranian Islamic Cover), they say it can be 10cm upper than one's knee, not more.
While there are drug trafficking, murderers, kidnapping, and so on... Its announcement comes much earlier than many experts had expected.

There has been mounting international criticism of Iran over its announcement on Tuesday that it has successfully enriched uranium.

Saturday is announced as Iran's national day nuclear energy and it's gonna be a holiday.

In my opinion it's nothing but a show of power, after all they have been calling America, their number one enemy for 28 years, and they can not back off that easy. After Iran revelution it is the first time that we are on the top of the news in every news channel. After yesterday news, that Iran was reported to the security council the dollar price increased, there hasn't been sanctions yet, but poeples' lives are being sanctioned.

What should we do if we don't want nuclear energy?

**Another interesting news,Mr. president said that Iran will cut relations with Denmark, (because of the Prophet Mohammed cartoon), So what, we don't have relations with any civilized country, lets add denmark to the list, what difference does it make?

***Most of the persian political websites are blocked in Iran, even BBC persian. Then we claim that Islam is the religion of democracy, in its nature it is. But does our act show a little bit of democracy. Prophet Mohhamed predicted that there would be a day that poeple who are not muslim are the true muslims, and the ones who are called muslims are the one who has nothing to do with Islam. A military plane crashed in to a residnetial region of tehran. Most of the passengers were journalists and reporters, they were going to a military manoeuvre. There were going by a military plane, no one knows why! There is no one to answer, as usual. How many innocent people should die, till our politicians realize that these economic sanctions are putting poeples' lives an stake? The situation is so unusual that one member of the parliament's presiding board has now said they should refer the issue to the body which vets legislation - known as the Guardian Council - for guidance about how to proceed. The third nominee Mohsen Tasalloti received only 77 votes in parliament, with 139 against him.
3.Iran survived again. One Western official has been quoted as saying: "We don't hold many cards." Good for us. The US and the Europeans are hoping that Iran will consider a compromise proposal that would move the sensitive part of nuclear fuel production - uranium enrichment - to Russia.
4.The funniest news of all is that a clergy has been appointed as Tehran University chancellor. He doesn’t hold any academic degree. This one is a real insult to all of the academics of the country. Ayatollah Amid Zanjani,a high ranking cleric, was not welcomed at all and was badly insulted by protesting students in the university on Sunday morning. I think there is a difference between an internationally accepted scientific center, Tehran University, and a seminary school, where they teach religion there. Lets keep clerics in where they belong to.
5.Fortunately there has been a wave of protest in other universities, calling for the freedom of Akbar Ganji, an imprisoned reporter. Masume Shafiee, Ganji’s wife, claimed that he has been threatened by the prosecution team. They said he would be dead, even if he got out of jail. I think it’s safer for him to stay in there. At least no one is brave enough to kill him.

People believe there is a bloodless coup in the country. I think they are somehow right. All the mayors, ministers and the governors are selected from a military organization called Sepaah. I think it’s the time for all the students to start thinking what is happening in this place. Well well
I don’t know where to start, economics or politics? In none there has been a progress.
1. As days are passing to the day of decision making about Iran’s nuclear program in the Security Council, Iran is losing its last chance of winning at least in some aspects of the issue. US suggested Iran to transfer some of its nuclear activity to Russia, in a place which US could directly observe everything that is happening. But Iran refused it, you know what, these people hate whatever that might help us to be trusted by the rest of the world.
2. The continuing downfall in the trade of stocks at Iran’s Stock Exchange market at an unprecedented rate, particularly after president Ahmadinejad’s remarks on the state of Israel two weeks ago, have lead a number of government economic advisors to propose to the administration that they temporary close Tehran’s Stock Exchange Organization. (rooz online) so, so, so, is there anybody to tell me why someone should be silly enough to keep his money here. They say the closure will be on next week. They won’t close the stock exchange to decrease its following political pressure. They think people will forget Mr. President’s remarks and its effect on everything in 2 or 3 weeks. Sorry Mr. President. Not only we can’t forget your continuous faults, but the history will remember it as one of the darkest periods of my beloved country.
3. Tehran university library was burnt. They say it’s because of the lack of the equipments, but is that an acceptable excuse? Tehran university is one if the oldest and best universities of Iran.
4. An appeal court has acquitted an Iranian secret agent of killing a Canadian-Iranian journalist, whose death in detention two years ago led to Canada's recalling its ambassador to Tehran, defense counsel said Wednesday. I receive 5 to 10 news alerts about Iran from CNN. This is one of them. Kazemi, a Canadian photojournalist of Iranian origin, died in July 2003. She was arrested while taking photographs outside a Tehran prison during a student demonstration.
5. UK didn’t accept Iran’s proposal on secret closing of Isfahan nuclear power plant, reported by Rooz online. A friend who lives in Italy said, there were about 1000 people. According to VOA, 200 people, most of then were Jew, demonstrated in Belgium. One of them said, what Mr. A.N, Iran’s president, has said remind them of Hitler, who said the same things 60 years ago.
2.UN secretary General Kofi Annan has postponed a scheduled trip to Iran, after the Iranian president called for Israel to be “wiped off the map”. It was “not an appropriate time” for the UN chief to visit Iran, said Mr. Annan’s spokesman, Stephane Dujarric. According to FARS news Iran asked Mr. Annan to postpone hid trip. Seems they know it’s not an appropriate time to have any international relations.
3.A senior British general has repeated a claim that bomb-making technology is crossing into Iraq from Iran. I am sure that with in a week there will be some blasts in Ahvaz and Iranian officials will say that British forces has a role in them.
Canada is preparing a report , it which they claim that human rights are being ignored in Iran, this is the result of mysterious death of Zahra Kazemi, a Canadian-Iranian reporter in Tehran, and since then the country’s relations are not good.
4.US asked Iran to free Ganji , an Iranian Reporter who has been in jail for some years now, again. It was another crisis of the continuous crisis against Mr. Khatami, the former and most probably the last reformist president of Iran. The students protests were held for six days and so many students were arrested and are still in prison such as Ahmad Batebi. He was sentenced to a 12 year imprisonment just for holding up a shirt with bloodstains on it in a picture which was published on the front cover of TIMES I guess.
To commemorate those days and the students who are still in prison people gather in the same street where the student dorms are, and this usually ends in some demonstrations and sometimes last for some days. There will be security guards again, beating people and ask them to leave.
But in my opinion and most of the academics these demonstrations are useless cause the have no purpose and leader. And most important of all don’t approve these movements because they are being supported by some silly satellite channels based in LA and run by some royalist singers. Since 99 I never took part in any of these movements.
Tow years ago, on the same days, my dad and I had an appointment with our dentist and we had to go to the same street. When we came out of the dentistry I asked my dad to drive through the street just to see what was going on. The worst thing about it is that they took our car number.
Last year we received a subpoena; my dad went to the court and explained the reason why we were there on that day.
Yesterday we received another subpoena; wanting me to go to the court this time. They say there were two ladies in the car. That not the only accusation, there are some others as well. They claim they have reports indicate that I called those satellite channels in order to report the thing happening here.
Huh, huh, huh, that is more than funny. That is nonsense. I had an argument with my parents. They want me accept whatever they say, sign whatever they want me to sign, do no object, and not even ask them for evidence. They want me to keep everything in peace till the next year when my studying is finished and they send me to another country.
Now, that all the conservatives have their power back, they want to scare people, but I am not afraid. This is the reason they are able to continue ruling this country. Everyone prefers to keep silent, that’s not me. Seems these years of darkness will never be over.
Wish me luck.

I believe in love

Wow, I know I am supposed to write about Iranian lifestyle but I really need to share this real story with you.
At first it seems like a love story which we read in books but it is real.
My friend’s aunt is 46 years old; she was born in a religious family in a small city near Tehran, called Shahriar. Having relationship with the other sex was forbidden in Iranian culture in those days, girls weren’t allowed to take part in social activities. She was a rebel of her time; she used to ride a motorbike and a horse. She passed the university entrance examination but her narrow-minded father didn’t let her attend the classes. She also fell in love at the age of 16.Parents didn’t let them marry. At the end ,in order to escape from the house she married someone she never loved. The husband was not better than the father. Until today she doesn’t have a passport, and she isn’t allowed to drive a car. Apart from that the husband has stopped working after 5 years of marriage and from then it’s her who pays the life expenses. Apparently it wasn’t a successful marriage, but this is a cultural habit in Iranian women to stand the situation even though they suffer.
Five years ago she decided to get divorce but my country’s law doesn’t give half of everything they gathered after marriage to the woman, so during the past five years she tried to get the house and at last she did it.
Two months ago she started looking for the love of her life, the one they couldn’t marry.
But the harder she tried the less she found, she found all his family but as soon as his sisters realized that she wanted to find him they cut their contact with her. He was also divorced.
Two days ago she called his mom’s house with no hope and he picked the phone up. After 30 years it was the first time they heard each other. The day after they met each other and it was then when she found out the reason of his divorce.
Well his wife found the old pictures and letters that she once sent them at the age of 16 and there was a fight which ended with a divorce. I know it’s hard to believe, but all these years the guy kept her track, he knew everything about him.
Wow, isn’t the power of love extraordinary?
Now they want to marry each other and they are going to visit her parents next week and they are going to tell them at their age nobody can stop them to be with each other any more.

A classmate came to me today and asked me about English essay writing. She wanted to know how she could improve her grammar. She had to write an essay about unemployment. I asked her how many books she read a week? She replied: “I don’t read books. What am I supposed to read?” I asked her if she read any newspaper. She said not even once a week. Any news she watched? I already knew the answer, of course not. I asked her if she could write an essay about unemployment in Persian, if she could talk about the effects on unemployment in a society. Isn’t it funny, our last semester students can’t even talk about a topic in Persian, and yet we expect them to become translators!
When they are not even familiar with any social issues how can they translate texts?
Did you know that Iranians average number of reading is only 3 pages a year for each person? And these 3 pages don’t mean everyone read 3 pages, there are some people who read a lot and help others to have a 3 page share in this scale.
Yet, the only thing we are proud of is our history. Isn’t it the time to ask ourselves where we are in today’s world?
This is just a circle of ignorance which gives birth to itself again and again. Ignorant young people will raise ignorant children. And this circle will go on and on.
Unfortunately the people who are aware of this situation are running away, and there is no one to stop this circle from spinning around.
There are people who want us to remain ignorant and we help them.
Friends isn’t it the time?

Today is 19th of the holy Ramadan, the day in which Imam Ali was attacked by a rebel. On this night we as Shiites have special ceremonies, after saying special prayers tonight we put Holy Quran on our heads and then we call God and our holy prophet and holy Imams.
I think it was four or fives years ago that I did these ceremonies for the last time, at the time when I was a student at school, so innocent and easily influenced by my school teachers. Pure holy tears running down on my face reminded me that I had done so many bad things which can’t be forgiven by God. There was an image of an angry who wanted to punish me all the time.
I don’t know what has happened to that Girl who was so religious and was able to stay up all night long and pray.
Is it my age or my knowledge which make me far from my old beliefs?
Or is it because of the country which I live in? Some times as I speak with my older brother who lives in the U.S I can feel that he is still my old brother with his old beliefs. Is it because of freedom of choice or he is a better Muslim?
Tonight, there is something bothering me, but it’s not my fault. I can’t talk to my God in Arabic anymore. If he is my creator he knows Farsi. Why do I have to talk to him in a language which is not mine? I can express myself with my native language much easier. By just listening to a song from Haideh _an Iranian singer- which is about Imam Ali I can feel so closer to my God.
My God is not scary, he is kinder than my parents, he forgives most of my faults. He is there for me whenever I need him, I can ask him for anything in my own words and my own language. I don’t need translation of my words and I also don’t need any clergy to tell me who to talk to him.
As I change the TV channels I find nothing but Arabic prayers or some clergy talking about this night. What if there is someone who doesn’t want to say prayers at all?
Isn’t it funny? Channel 1: Joshan Kabir,a prayer in which you have to repeat 1000 names of God, from Tehran. Channel 2: Joshan Kabir, the same prayer from Mash had. Channel 3: Mojir Prayer. Channel 4: a religious speech by a clergy…etc, as you watch the programs you can see so many people trying so hard not to stare at the cameras and as soon as they find out that they are on the air they start crying.
I better do to bed with my book, Economics of development; I think it’s at least better than watching TV.
